Playing the character of little Laura Ingalls in the TV show Little House on the Prairie, might have been actress Melissa Gilbert’s most famous role to date, but she has starred in many other projects. Apart from The Miracle Worker and 2 Little House TV movies, Gilbert also competed on the reality competition show, Dancing with the Stars.
Sadly, Gilbert has been in financial difficulty for some time now, which she blames on the economic recession, fewer acting jobs and a divorce. She has had two run-ins with the IRS. In 2013, she owed them $112,000 in federal income taxes and then in 2015, she again owed them $360,000, but had worked out a payment plan with them.
