Max Boyce – Born in 1943
Max Boyce, MBE—the legendary Welsh comedian, singer, and storyteller—has been making audiences laugh and cheer since his breakthrough in 1971. Blending wit with a deep love for rugby union, he became a household name by the mid-’70s. His 1975 album We All Had Doctors’ Papers topped the UK Albums Chart, becoming the only comedy record ever to do so.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, the Glamorgan-born entertainer has sold over two million albums. Still going strong, he appeared in the acclaimed 2020 mini-docu series The Great Indoors, proving his spark hasn’t dimmed.
