Sidney Poitier, 93 – Married for 45 Years
By starring in 1963’s Lilies of the Field, Bahamian-American actor Sidney Poitier became the first black male actor to win an Academy Award. He would go on to give legendary performances in The Defiant Ones and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.
After being married to first wife Juanita Hardy for 15 years, and having 4 daughters with her, Sidney divorced her in 1965. While being married to Jaunita, he had a 9-year affair with singer and actress Diahann Carroll. Eventually, he married actress Joanna Shimkus in 1976 and they have two daughters together.
