Angie Dickinson
Angie Dickinson was to the 50s, what Winona Ryder and Drew Barrymore were to the 90s. Many had a crush on this beauty who hailed from Kulm, North Dakota. It was during her stint in the Miss America contest that a Hollywood casting agent noticed Dickinson, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The actress’ breakthrough roles were in Western-themed movies that starred big ‘Western’ actors. Dickinson starred alongside James Arness in Gun the Man Down, and John Wayne in Rio Bravo. After making more than 50 movies, Dickinson turned her sights to television, and she’s best remembered today for portraying Sergeant Leann ‘Pepper’ Anderson in the NBC crime series Police Woman.
