Barbara Mandrell
Barbara was the eldest of her sisters, who would eventually form the musical group, the Mandrell Sisters, make some chart topping country music, but then just fell off the radar. She released her first album in 1971, and the following years were her best.
In 1997, the ‘I Don’t Want to be Right’ crooner announced that she would not be recording and performing any music, but she continued acting until 2000. The reason for her retirement was that she wanted to spend more time with her family and she has hardly made any public appearances since then.
