The Verdict actor first met this beautiful Racheal, Racheal actress when they were working on his first Broadway play Picnic in 1953, but he was already married then.

They reconnected again in 1957 when shooting for the movie The Long, Hot Summer, and the chemistry was undeniable. Soon, Paul got a divorce and the couple wed in 1957, although he always felt guilty for leaving his first wife. Joanne and Paul would go on to star in many movies together and had a lovely life, full of public displays of affection! Their 50 year marriage only ended when Paul passed away in 2008 due to lung cancer at the age of 83.
