In her personal life, she is a happy single mom to three adopted children, and has never been married. After dating a slew of well-known people, she met Washington, D.C. businessman James V Reyes on a blind date and fell in love.

The couple even got engaged but it all fell apart in 2005 and the engagement was called off. The reason was Laura’s breast cancer diagnosis, for which she even had to undergo surgery.
