George Strait and Norma Strait – ~ 48 Years, Emerge through Grief Hand-in-hand
With this cowboy hat and boots firmly in place, country singer George Strait has been able to carve out a hugely successful musical career for himself, all thanks to his devotion to his craft. He has also devoted himself to his wife of 48 years, Norma, who has been with him through all the highs and lows.
The high school sweethearts eloped to Mexico in 1971, were married there and soon had two kids. Sadly, their eldest child, Jessica passed away in an auto accident when she was 13. The tragedy devastated their family, but even though George and Norma do not talk about it much, they were each other’s biggest support. They established The Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation and offer support to other child-related charities in San Antonio.
