Magic Johnson and Earlitha “Cookie” Johnson – ~ 29 Years, Do Not Make Hasty Decisions

While he has enjoyed his time in the limelight with a very successful NBA career, retired basketball player Magic Johnson has had a very happy married and family life, as well. He gives full credit for this to his wife of 29 years, Cookie. He and Cookie have one son, and an adopted daughter, while Magic has another son from a previous relationship.

Just 45 days after Magic married Cookie in 1991, he announced to her that he was HIV positive, It absolutely shattered the newlywed, who was also pregnant at the time but she did not have time to get mad at him, as she was worried about his health. Eventually the couple was able to overcome the diagnosis, and turned their personal tragedy into a message, advocating for HIV awareness programs.
