Kristy McNichol was once a teen idol, all thanks to her role as Buddy Lawrence in the 1970s soap Family and in the famous movie Little Darlings. Her career seemed to be progressing quite well until she decided to quit showbiz in 1998 to become a school teacher. She said later that the stress of living a closeted life got to her.

Finally, in 2012, she came out publicly in an interview and said that she was living with her partner for many years — since 1991 to be precise. Her loving partner was Martie Allen, and apparently, the two are married.
