Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones – ~ 20 Years, Overcome Hiccups in Relationship

While many saw Basic Instinct star Michael Douglas’s pairing with the much younger Mask of Zorro actress Catherine Zeta-Jones as “unlikely,” the duo has roughed it out for 20 years now, after being introduced to each other by mutual friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith at a film festival dinner.

After their 1996 meeting, they got married in 2000, just 5 months after Michael divorced his first wife and 3 months after Catherine gave birth to their son. While their marriage has been a strong one, the family has had its share of ups and downs, with Catherine’s stepson Cameron going to jail for drug possession and with Michael’s tongue cancer scare. Luckily, the couple has managed to overcome it all together.
