Barbara Was Not the First Case

Cleveland’s University of Hospitals obstetrician, Dr. Kimberly Gecsi, has more than a decade of professional experience and had only seen 5 such cases of phantom pregnancies before, it was that rare! She recalled the case of a pregnant lady from Pittsburg who had come in for a check-up.

The nurse took a stethoscope across the lady’s swollen belly, but struggled hard to find the baby’s heartbeat, which was highly uncommon. Dr. Kimberly conducted an ultrasound on her and there was no baby in her womb. This stunned the lady as she really believed she was pregnant!
