Field hockey is a mean old sport. It about speed, precision, using the grass to your advantage and getting to the ball and controlling it before the other team gets their hands on it. When the latter is the main objective, obviously, you need to be quick on your feet to get to it. However, while swinging the hockey stick, one must be very careful to avoid hitting someone and also avoid being hit by others when they swing! This poor girl learnt her lesson the hard way.
