By becoming one of the first domestic couples to wed when same-gender marriages were declared legal in Britain in 2014, singer Sir Elton John and his partner, Canadian filmmaker David Furnish made history. The two had met at the singer’s home in Windsor, England back in 1993 when John threw a party to meet new people, not from his regular circle.
