Mel Brooks – Born in 1926
EGOT recipient Mel Brooks has starred in a few movies over the course of his long 75-year career. However, he is more famous for directing cult classic comedies like Spaceballs, Get Smart, Blazing Saddles, and of course, the hilarious Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Brooks always wanted to work in the entertainment industry, and so he began working at 14, starting our with comedy. He eventually moved on to writing comedy for television and his first big gig was the 50s show, Your Show of Shows. Brooks’ directing career began in the 70s, and his writing and directing career were both successes.
