Harry Belafonte – 95
Harry Belafonte is an actor, singer, and activist who played a significant role in the folk music scene in the 1950s. He is particularly credited with popularizing the calypso, a type of Caribbean folk song. Additionally, he was active in a number of social movements, particularly the civil rights struggle. He began acting in movies in 1952 and later appeared in 1992’s The Player and 1972’s Buck and the Preacher. Even after having a seizure in 2015, Harry stepped out of retirement to record an emotional moment for Spike Lee’s Oscar-nominated BlacKkKlansman from 2018.
