Robby Benson – Born in 1956
In the era of teen idols such as David Cassidy and Donny Osmond, a young professional actor named Robby Benson became internationally recognized for starring in the lead roles in movies such as Jory and Jeremy. After his open heart surgery in 1984, Benson decided to veer away from being the lead, to starring in his own movies, and playing character roles. He has now enjoyed a five-decade long career being an actor, TV director, voiceover artist and professor of filmmaking at New York University.
