Narwhals are unknowingly helping scientists

Narwhals are curious looking creatures, and thanks to the tusk on their heads, they’re rightly dubbed ‘unicorns of the sea.’ However these creatures are crucial for NASA scientists to measure the change in temperature in the artic region around Greenland. They have fitted these narwhals with radio devices that transmit back data from the hard-to-reach deep corners of the Arctic, and helps them study changes in salinity and water temperature, as they try to understand climate change.
