THAT Couch Moment

In 2005, the movie War of the Worlds was releasing, and it’s lead star Tom Cruise was on The Oprah Winfrey Show to promote it, and he was waaay too jumpy! The topic shifted to his then-girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes, and Cruise was jumping off the walls like a love struck puppy. The over-the-top expression made for a hugely viral moment on television, and perfect meme material with Cruise jumping on the sofa, and “man-handling” Oprah! She later said that the public fixation with that particular episode was really unfair.
