Australia’s military is pretty small small and hence, it gets a lower scores in the rankings due to the number of actively serving personnel, just 58,000 and the number of tanks – only 59. Looking at their number of aircrafts they have in their fleet – 408 of them, the rank is pushed down even further. However, the country’s ranking is hoisted up as they have a good number of attack helicopters and submarines. They spend around $26.1 billion a year for the upkeep of their forces.
