Thailand’s military is controlling the country now, following their coup in May 2014. The military says that their major role is maintaining and fostering Thai unity, and the country ranks pretty high thanks to its number of active serving personnel, tanks, and because they possess an aircraft carrier, although it still does not have an adequate aircraft fleet to support the vessel. Their yearly budget on defense is $5.39 billion and have around 306,000 active frontline personnel.
