33. Peru
While the Peruvian military is composed of their Army, Air force and Navy, but another component of their armed forces is known as the National Police, which is Peru’s civilian law enforcement agency. The goal of these forces is to maintain independence, sovereignty, and preservation of territorial integrity. The pool of only reserved personnel from the country is around 268,000 and the country last had an annual budget of $820 million. Besides civil protection, the military is also tasked with improving the economic and infrastructural development of the communities where they are based.
