The Mexican Armed Forces were first created to fulfill the aim of maintaining security for the United Mexican States since army generals frequently ruled the nation. The Mexican Army and Mexican Navy are two distinct but equally significant components of the Mexican armed forces. The Mexican Navy is in charge of the Naval Aviation and Naval Infantry Forces, whereas the Mexican Army is in charge of the Mexican Air Force. Now, there are over 273,000 persons working in the military on active duty. There are also 110,000 military members that are in the active and reserve forces.
