Man-made, Man Destroyed

This is, or rather was, the ancient and historic city of Mosul in Iraq. It was the second largest city in the country, that was established in the 7th century, and the revered mosque here has been an important spot for Muslims since 12th century. Unfortunately, in 2017, ISIS destroyed the mosque and even the city surrounding it. It is a very troubled part of the world today, but it was the cradle of civilization once upon a time, known as Mesopotamia. This drone footage and stills are just heart-breaking reminders that man can take a second to destroy what was built over centuries.
