Fish that Fly

This is quite the outstanding drone shot, is it not? This is a devil fish, or giant devil ray which is an endangered species. Despite the names, they’re actually quite docile and leave humans alone, unless they feel threatened. They are known as flying rays, because they often breach water and jump quite high. They can jump up to as high as 2 meters before they splash back into the water. Why do they breach? To find mates, to get rid of parasites on their bodies, to socialize with their peers and to communicate with them.
