James Doohan – Canadian Army

James Doohan notably appeared in the Star Trek series of films as Montgomery “Scotty” Scott. Before making his way to Hollywood, Doohan joined the Canadian Army. He was part of the 3rd Canadian Division’s 14th Field Artillery Regiment.

Doohan offered his services as a pilot, and he saw combat during the Second World War. He was present during the Normandy D-Day invasion, where he sustained an injury from friendly fire. Doohan dived into radio and TV work after the war, and it soon led him to the role in Star Trek.
